Who we are
The story of Roni Levavi
Roni Levavi is a multidisciplinary artist, industrial designer, conceptualist and intellectual. He studied architecture and animation in Los Angeles, and in 1996 established his first studio, specialising in the design and manufacture of Walt Disney furniture.
Later he opened r-tip Studio, which specialises in space design, marketing products and brand identity for leading brands.
In recent years he has turned his creative drive to artistic expression. His works playfully explore the relations between different materials, between nature and art, and between the living and the inanimate. Roni uses contemporary technologies such as sculpting in VR, 3D printing and laser cutting.
He combines various items and materials, some of them recycled, with materials from nature. His compositional ability is buoyed by a prolific imagination and supported by rich knowledge acquired throughout life — the combination leading to unique, original, surrealistic and sometimes kinetic works.
His love for nature and people, and his sensitivity to nuance, emotion, body language and inner worlds, give his figures credibility. Some flat artworks become three-dimensional when viewed from certain angles, and Roni adds a further dimension to them — the dimension of time.
His creations show different aspects of the world: natural, urban, figurative and abstract, and are characterised by a sense of humour that breaks free of convention.
“People Create Reality” is another project Roni Levavi has been working on for many years, with the goal of shaping a better and healthier reality.
